Vozovnica Slovenija is a nationwide ticket within Slovenia's integrated public passenger transport system (IJPP). Depending on the ticket type, it allows public transport travel throughout Slovenia and is particularly useful for passengers travelling longer distances or using different bus and train operators.

Vozovnica Slovenija is not only a student ticket. General daily, three-day, weekly, monthly and annual IJPP tickets become nationwide tickets when they reach the maximum fare for that ticket type. A separate subsidised nationwide ticket is also available to eligible pupils and students.

Where is Vozovnica Slovenija valid?

The ticket is part of Slovenia's integrated public passenger transport system (IJPP) and can be used on participating intercity buses and trains throughout the Republic of Slovenia within the validity period of the ticket.

An additional supplement may be required when travelling on higher-category trains such as IC, EC, EN, MV or ICS services. Holders of a ticket allowing unlimited travel throughout Slovenia can also currently transfer to Ljubljana city buses within LPP zone 1 at no additional charge during the ticket's validity period.

How much does Vozovnica Slovenija cost?

The price depends on the type of ticket and its validity period. Under the currently published IJPP tariff, the following maximum prices apply to general period tickets that provide nationwide validity:

Ticket type Nationwide price
Daily €18
Three-day €22
Weekly €36
Monthly, personalised €70
Monthly, non-personalised €90
Annual, personalised €560
Annual, non-personalised €720

For shorter journeys, the fare may be lower and the ticket may only be valid on the selected route. Once the fare reaches the maximum price for that ticket type under the applicable IJPP tariff, a nationwide Vozovnica Slovenija is issued.

The final price depends on the ticket type and journey details, so always check the price shown during the purchase process before paying.

Do I need an IJPP card?

Daily, three-day, weekly, monthly and annual IJPP tickets purchased in advance are generally loaded onto an electronic IJPP card or another compatible electronic medium.

You do not always need an IJPP card for a single journey. At karte.brezavta.si you can also buy a single barcode ticket, which can be used without an IJPP card.

Personalised or non-personalised?

A personalised ticket is issued to a specific passenger and cannot be transferred to another person. The nationwide maximum price is currently €70 for a monthly ticket and €560 for an annual ticket.

A non-personalised ticket is not tied to one named passenger and may be transferable subject to the applicable conditions of use. The nationwide maximum price is currently €90 for a monthly ticket and €720 for an annual ticket.

How long is the ticket valid?

A daily ticket is valid for the selected day, a three-day ticket for three days, and a weekly ticket for a specified week from Monday to Sunday. Monthly and annual tickets are valid for the period for which they are issued. Always check the displayed start and end dates before completing your purchase.

Vozovnica Slovenija for pupils and students

Passengers eligible for subsidised public transport can purchase a separate subsidised Vozovnica Slovenija. It covers intercity public transport by bus and train throughout Slovenia. Eligibility requirements, validity periods and prices differ from those of general IJPP tickets.

See subsidised IJPP tickets for pupils and students for information about eligibility, monthly and annual options, and purchasing.

Which ticket should I choose?

If you only need to make one journey, see our guide to single tickets. If you travel regularly, compare monthly and annual IJPP tickets. For longer-distance travel, or once the applicable fare reaches the nationwide tariff cap, your ticket can become a Vozovnica Slovenija valid throughout the country.
